Assessments

Our Assessments

Monarch Autism Assessment offers a range of diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents. Each assessment is conducted by our multidisciplinary team - paediatricians, psychologists, and speech pathologists - working together in person at our Williams Landing clinic.

Autism (ASD)

Autism (ASD) Assessments

An autism assessment at Monarch is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary process. By bringing together medical, psychological, and communication expertise, we are able to assess your child from every angle - resulting in a more thorough and accurate diagnostic outcome than a single-clinician assessment can provide.

What’s included

  • Paediatric medical consultation including developmental and family history
  • Psychological assessment including standardised tools such as the ADOS-2, WISC-V, and VABS-3
  • Speech pathology assessment of communication, language, and social communication
  • Structured diagnostic interviews with parents/caregivers and, where appropriate, the child
  • Consideration of co-occurring conditions, such as ADHD, anxiety, or language disorder
  • A comprehensive, integrated written report with diagnostic outcome and recommendations
ADHD

ADHD Assessments

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that can shape how a child focuses, manages tasks, regulates energy, and responds to their environment. ADHD looks different in every child - and in many cases, traits go unrecognised, particularly in girls and quieter presentations.

What’s included

  • Paediatric consultation exploring medical history and current concerns
  • Standardised ADHD rating scales and questionnaires (parent and teacher)
  • Psychological assessment of executive functioning and cognitive profile
  • Consideration of co-occurring conditions
  • A comprehensive written report with diagnostic outcome and recommendations
Cognitive & Learning

Cognitive & Learning Assessments

Cognitive assessments evaluate a child's intellectual strengths and weaknesses across areas such as verbal reasoning, visual-spatial skills, working memory, and processing speed. These assessments can help identify specific learning disorders and inform educational planning.

What’s included

  • Use of internationally recognised cognitive assessment tools (e.g. WISC-V, Leiter-3)
  • Assessment tailored to age - preschool through to adolescence
  • Identification of learning strengths and areas of difficulty, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia
  • Speech pathology input where language or communication factors are relevant
  • Recommendations for school adjustments and additional supports
  • A comprehensive written report suitable for schools and other services
Children & Adolescents

Assessments for Children & Adolescents

Early identification can make a meaningful difference to a child's development, helping families and schools put the right supports in place as early as possible. We create a calm, friendly environment so children and young people feel comfortable and engaged throughout the assessment.

What’s included

  • Play-based and age-appropriate assessment activities
  • Parent/caregiver interview and detailed developmental history
  • Input from teachers or other professionals where relevant (with consent)
  • Coordinated assessment across paediatrics, psychology, and speech pathology as clinically indicated
  • A report with clear recommendations for home, school, and other services
